Annacis Water Supply Tunnel Annacis Water Supply Tunnel <div class="ExternalClass0AA0638D7B554C5CA652B9797922D2D6"><p> <strong>Project Overview</strong></p><p> Metro Vancouver is planning to construct a major water infrastructure project, called the Annacis Water Supply Tunnel, deep below the Fraser River between the City of New Westminster and the City of Surrey. The tunnel will be one of five new water supply tunnel crossings in the region built to withstand a major earthquake. Once complete, the new tunnel will be connected to the region’s drinking water system and will help ensure the continued reliable delivery of clean, safe drinking water to a growing region.</p><p>The Annacis Water Supply Tunnel is one of three projects that make up the Annacis Drinking Water Projects. The other two projects involve:</p><ul><li>Installing a new water main in the Brow of the Hill and Kelvin neighbourhoods in the City of New Westminster</li><li>Installing a new water main in the Whalley and Newton neighbourhoods in the City of Surrey</li></ul></div>

It is an opportunity to connect with residents, businesses, and community groups who may be interested in or impacted by the project. As a part of the public engagement program, we will meet with businesses and residents near the north shaft site in late 2017 and host a community open house in early 2018.</p><p><strong>How your input will be used</strong></p><p>The Annacis Water Supply Tunnel project team is committed to sharing information and providing opportunities for community input. The input gathered through public engagement is important to us.
