Grease campaign wins awardGrease campaign wins award<div class="ExternalClassCA7E4838219041249DC56E487BD62CD0"><p>​Metro Vancouver has won an IRIS reward for its regional <a href="/grease">Wipe It Green Bin It</a> grease campaign's 3D transit shelter installation, which was chosen for best Out of Home advertising innovation. </p><p>The installation was unveiled at a transit shelter at Vancouver's Robson and Bute streets in the lead up to Thanksgiving last year to educate residents about how to properly dispose of their kitchen oils and grease.   </p><p>Metro Vancouver and its member municipalities spend more than $2.7 million every year to unblock sewage pipes and to repair or replace infrastructure impacted by grease. The regional grease campaign started in late December and will run until the end of February, and includes social media, transit shelter ads and advertising in grocery stores.
