This month we cover a visit to one of our regional parks by members of the royal family, our 2015 Operating Budget, water services and liquid waste services projects, improvements in regional recycling rates, rebates for replacing wood-burning fireplaces and stoves, and more.

Metro Vancouver is a partnership of 21 municipalities, one Electoral Area and one Treaty First Nation that collaboratively plans and delivers services throughout the region. Our core services are drinking water, wastewater treatment, and solid waste management – garbage and recycling. Metro Vancouver also regulates air quality, plans for urban growth, manages a regional parks system, and provides affordable housing. Metro Vancouver is governed by a Board of Directors of elected officials from each local authority.

Read more...Welcome0 0

Average household utility fees and property taxes will increase by $5 to $427.

This budget increase is less than half the rate of inflation in our region. Households will pay on average an extra $3 per year for drinking water and $3 for sewerage services and $1 less for solid waste services because less garbage is being generated in the region.

http://heimat-deutschland.info/metroupdate/PublishingImages/Budget.jpgRead More About Metro Vancouver’s 2015 Operating BudgetOperating BudgetFull
