If you followed any of the construction for the new Seymour Capilano Filtration Plant and related infrastructure on the North Shore, this event will be of interest to you. </p><p><strong>"Building of the Twin Tunnels"</strong></p><p>For more than 10 years, Metro Vancouver video-documented the construction of one of the largest water infrastructure projects in the world from breaking ground to final commissioning. Find out how this facility was built; from underground trains, to massive pipes, and detailed engineering work. (30 min) The Director and Metro Vancouver Water departure staff will be on hand to answer questions.</p><p><em>and</em></p><strong>"Sounds from the Breakhead Tank"</strong><br><p>As the water project neared completion an unusual collaboration was formed to take advantage of the remarkable acoustics in the underground reservoir. Canadian composer Jordan Nobles wrote and arranged an original work for eight musicians to perform inside the facility, days prior to it filling with more than 3 million litres of water, and commissioning the system. (20 min) The Director and Jordan Nobles will be on hand to answer questions.</p><p><strong>The screening is at the The Kay Meek Centre – 1700 Mathers Avenue, West Vancouver, 7:00pm March 22, 2016.</strong></p><p>Admission is free, but you must register.
